I’ve started the development of the new CLENotes and I’ve done parsing of the configuration file and some of the command line parsing. I also did a simple logging that logs entries to log file if write_log is true in configuration file.
Coding with Xtend has been a good experience so far. Not having to add semicolons is a breeze and features such as Templates makes life easier (although I’ve not used them very much at this time). A nice feature is also Active Annotations such as @Property, and they make again life easier.
In time, as I learn more to Xtend, I’ll make use more of it’s features and I can always continue to use plain old Java that I know because of Xtend’s 100% compatibility with Java.
