Gravity One is starting to look like a game. So far, I’ve done the starting screen, including main menu and some game statistics, and I’ve finished the game mechanics.
Here’s the main menu.
Buttons on the main menu are a custom Sprite Kit node. Game statistics display, unsurprisingly, statistics of the game like how many times played, thruster fuel and so on.
Here’s a screenshot of the game.
During the development, I discovered OpenGameArt.org, a great site that includes free artifacts for developers. Art, music and sound effects are included. Many artifacts are public domain or Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) licensed so they can be used in commercial and non-commercial projects. Very helpful indeed to all developers who are not artists but would like some art to their creations.
Art of button edges, backgrounds, the gravity well, the ball and the goal are all from OpenGameArt.org.
